Missouri police still disproportionately stop black drivers

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A new report shows black drivers were 95% more likely to be pulled over by Missouri police than white drivers last year. The Missouri attorney general released the analysis of 2019 police stops on Friday.

Data show that's the greatest disparity between stops of white and black drivers recorded in the two decades since the state first began compiling data.

Until now, last year's percentage had been the highest since the reports began in 2000. Data also show black drivers were 36% more likely to be arrested than whites.
